"I enjoy establishing a connection with people I'm photographing, and this creates a relaxed atmosphere, either in my studio or on location. For events, I will follow your party from beginning to end, capturing not only the great moments, but also the memorable in-between moments, both in candids and formal portraits. As each event is unique, I will work closely with you to ensure that your specific needs and desires are met."

Marla Cohen began her career as a fine art photographer. She graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a recipient of the prestigious MacDowell Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited in shows in Miami and New York.

Marla’s corporate clients have included New Jersey Monthly, Psychology Today, Random House and Montclair State University. Based in northern New Jersey, Marla specializes in portrait and event photography throughout the Metropolitan area.

Marla’s confidence and effervescent personality create a perfect environment  for a successful photography experience. She is creative and open to suggestions. My family has enjoyed being photographed by Marla on many occasions. We always appreciate her professionalism.  Wendy Sabin

We hired Marla for both of our children's b'nai mitzvot. They were big days and we had a lot on our minds.  Marla set a relaxed, fun mood for the formal family photos at the synagogue and the next day quietly floated around the parties and captured gorgeous pictures of everyone!  When the day is done - those photographs are our precious reminder of the day. They are a treasure. We were so happy with the pictures we wish Marla would follow us everywhere!  Caarin Fleischmann

Marla is and will always be our go-to photographer! We hired Marla to photograph our daughter's bat mitzvah and she did a perfect job - - we hired her again for our son's bar mitzvah and again, she took beautiful photos of our family--posed and un-posed. I highly recommend ordering the finished photo album. It is a wonderful reminder of the day.  Jane Winston
